StudioCAN's medical centre in Guimarães, Portugal, reimagines healthcare architecture with a single-level, six-point star-shaped building — a nod to the emergency services star of life symbol. Each wing serves a distinct purpose, with a central reception core, creating an intuitive layout that benefits both patients and healthcare workers. Roca provided bathroom solutions that further enhanced the building’s singular design and emphasis on functionality.
Accessibility and well-being extend beyond the building itself. Extensive green spaces, landscaped walking paths, and outward-facing windows bring calm to an otherwise clinical setting. Roca's bathroom solutions reinforce this philosophy throughout. White ceramic wall-hung Victoria toilets with Roca Rimless® technology and individual Debba ceramic basins introduce soft, rounded forms that blend seamlessly with the muted off-white interiors, creating a tranquil, monochrome atmosphere. Spun urinals with covers integrate discreetly and practically for all users. Together, StudioCAN's bold yet understated architecture and Roca's carefully chosen products deliver a healthcare environment where design is always in service of the people who use it.
